If you have a medical concern for your pet, please contact your preferred veterinarian.

The recommendations on this site are strictly meant to possibly assist in alleviating symptoms for common ailments in pets and are NOT a cure.

Please always conduct your own research before committing to any of the recommended holistic/homeopathic treatments. All pets are different and may not respond well to holistic or homeopathic options.

Environmental Allergy Related Symptoms

These are treatments recommended for external/environmental allergy issues only (such as allergies to pollens, molds, grass, etc.). Signs of environmental allergy issues in dogs include (although are not limited to):

  • itchy, red, or raw skin/paws/ears

  • red, watery eyes

  • increased discharge from the eyes

  • sneezing

  • excess in scratching or licking

  • recurrent skin or ear infections

  • loose stools or gastrointestinal issues

  • excessive rubbing of the face on furniture or ground/floor

Treatments that may help with environmentally related allergy issues:

Zyrtec
or
Claritin

Dosage is dependent on your dog or cats weight. Once daily dose can assist in providing relief of skin and ear issues. Results should be noticeable with daily use after approximately 2 weeks. While many turn to benadryl for allergy-related relief for their pes, recent studies show that benadryl can cross the blood-brain barrier and has a high correlation with dementia if used long-term on a daily basis. It should be noted that correlation is NOT causation, and further research is pending.

Raw
Apple
Cider
Vinegar

Formulated by mixing 2 parts water to 1 part raw ACV for a milder solution, or 1 part water to 1 part raw ACV for a stronger solution, raw ACV is known to have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties and works as a drying agent for yeasty skin, encouraging the body to heal. Put into a spray bottle and spray liberally to affected areas while avoiding eyes and sanitary areas. THINGS TO CONSIDER: Raw ACV is still acidically based, meaning it can and will sting, although temporarily, when sprayed on wounds or raw/irritated skin. It also has a strong scent, however the scent normally fades once the raw ACV has fully dried. This also works as a natural flea repellant and a small dose can be put into your pets water bowl to promote healthy gastrointestinal issues, limit bad breath, tackle tartar and plaque control in dogs teeth, and can help with a dogs skin and coat. !!! NOT SAFE FOR CATS TO INGEST !!!
